Hi, my name is Nicole Lonetree and I am the Elementary Cultural
Specialist for the Indian Education Program in the Saint Paul Public
Schools.
I am a graduate from the University of Minnesota Twin
Cites, with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in American Indian Studies.
I am currently working on obtaining my master's in teaching from Hamline
University. I have lived in Minnesota all of my life and I am both
Ho-Chunk and Ojibwe from Turtle Mountain.
Outside of work, I am also a High School Dance Team Coach. I'm going on my eighth year of coaching and I love it!
I
am very excited about joining the Indian Education Program and I am
thrilled to be working with such an outstanding team of people.
Seven Ojibwe reservations: Mille Lacs, Fond du Lac, White Earth, Leech
Lake, Nett Lake, Grand Portage and last but not least Red Lake. Four Dakota communities: Upper Sioux, Lower Sioux, Prairie Island and Shakopee Mdewakanton.
